Lead Systems Engineer:

Intramotev is seeking a motivated Lead Systems Engineer to join the engineering team supporting growing demands in the development of autonomous, self-propelled rail vehicles. This role will provide technical leadership of cross-functional teams developing innovative solutions - through all phases of the systems development lifecycle. Systems engineering leadership will include connecting operational assessments and customer performance requirements to system requirements and design architectures, design development, interface management, integration, testing, verification, validation, and customer delivery. This role requires strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration to lead in prioritizing feature developments and design decisions to meet customer commitments. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. This position will be based out of St. Louis, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead systems development across diverse functional teams in a dynamic environment - providing technical leadership and decision-making to optimize safety, quality, cost, and schedule in support of customer commitments
  • Lead system requirements management and cross-functional systems allocation/decomposition
  • Manage systems architectures and configurations serving numerous customers and technical roadmaps
  • Manage interface architectures, definitions, and control
  • Lead intra-system design decisions, managing cross-functional system dependencies
  • Define and lead systems integration processes and conduct
  • Define and lead systems test plans, verification, and validation
  • Support regulatory certifications and safety-critical validations
  • Perform limited domestic and international travel in support of customer deliveries

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science
  • 2+ years of experience leading/managing a team of engineers
  • 5+ years of experience working with complex, integrated systems
  • Experience with systems engineering development lifecycle
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches
  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment and as an individual contributor
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided)
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in requirements management, systems architecture, model-based design, interface management, systems integration, test, verification, and validation
  • Experience with safety-critical systems development and certification
  • Experience in the development and verification of autonomous systems
  • Knowledge and experience working with North American (AAR) and international (CENELEC) railway standards

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience.
