Software Engineering / Computer Science Intern/Co-Op:

Intramotev is seeking an Software Engineering / Computer Science Intern/Co-Op to join the software development team to meet growing demands in the development of self-propelled rail vehicles. Intramotev is developing multiple unmanned self-propelled vehicles. The role has a strong software focus – the successful candidate will be a member of the development team for innovative self-propelled capabilities in areas such as embedded software; user experience/user interface software; back-end software; computer vision / artificial intelligence software; and control systems software. The development of these capabilities include multidisciplinary skills including: system development and integration, debugging and testing, and knowledge of software development tools. This position will be based out of St. Louis, MO

This position involves working in a dynamic team environment on small (1-2) to medium (3-6) person projects where excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed. Due to the research nature of the work, project objectives and requirements are likely to evolve over the course of the role. A small amount of domestic travel to support integration, demonstration and customer engagement may be required.

Position Responsibilities

• Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
• Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
• Solves problems and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science
• 1+ years of university and/or internship/co-op experience with embedded software; user experience/user interface software; back-end software; computer vision / artificial intelligence software; and control systems software
• 1+ years of university and/or internship/co-op experience with C, C++, or Rust programming
• University or inter/co-op experience with the software development life-cycle including debugging and testing
• Motivated, detail-oriented
• Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches
• Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment or as an individual contributor
• Fluent in both written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

• 1+ years of university and/or internship/co-op experience delivering product(s) to customer(s)

• Experience working with software version control tools such as git

• Courses related to Autonomous Systems
• Demonstrated experience working on project teams.

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 1 or more years' related work (internship/co-op) or university course projects experience.
